About the OT

Hi, I’m Amanda, a registered and licensed occupational therapist, wife, and mom. I have been an OT for going on 4 years now. We live in Southeastern Indiana, otherwise known as the Tristate area (IN, OH, KY). We enjoy life with our two Great Danes and the chaos of raising 3 littles in our hometown.

When I was in grad school, I was convinced I’d end up working in a hospital. Pediatrics was never a part of the plan. But when an opportunity opened in an outpatient setting, everything shifted. At the time, I felt completely out of my comfort zone but looking back, it was exactly where I was supposed to be. Working with children, especially those with sensory differences and autism, changed everything for me. It reshaped how I see behavior, connection, and what a child truly needs to feel safe and successful.

Around that same time, my own son was beginning his journey. We went through hearing tests, ear tube surgery, and questions that didn’t yet have clear answers. When his hearing came back normal, we were referred for further evaluation with DDBP and by age two, he was diagnosed with autism.

That’s when my two worlds collided. I wasn’t just supporting families in therapy anymore, I was living it at home. My perspective shifted in a way that only experience can bring. I began to see how often a child’s needs are misunderstood, how easily sensory differences get labeled as behavior, and how hard it can be for parents to know what their child is trying to communicate.

That’s what led me to create Be Rooted Pediatric Therapy, LLC. I wanted a space that felt different with less clinical and more connection. A place where children can feel safe, supported, and free to be themselves. This is a space where therapy is grounded in play, relationship, and real understanding. Because when a child feels safe and understood, that’s when real growth begins.

If you’re looking for support that feels more connected, more intentional, and truly centered around your child, I’d be honored to be part of your journey.
